This notice explains what Bet-VA collects when you read the site, sign up for the newsletter or write to us, and what happens when you follow a link to an operator.

What the site collects

The pages are static. The server keeps ordinary access logs (IP address, time, page requested, referring page and the browser's user agent) for security and to count visits. We serve our pages via Cloudflare, and it uses that same connection data to deliver them and to screen out abusive traffic. We do not ask you to create an account and we do not collect names or addresses through the pages themselves.

Links to operators

Buttons marked "Visit" open a redirect on our own domain (an address beginning with /go/) that sends you on to the operator. The redirect records that the click happened and which page it came from, so we can tell which pages are useful and which operator you were sent to. Once you are on the operator's site, its own privacy notice applies.

Newsletter form

The newsletter sign-up on the home page and the about page is served by an outside provider, fortunida.com. Loading those pages requests a script file from the provider. If you submit the form, the address you type is sent to the provider so that we can send the newsletter. Other pages on this site do not load that script.

Emails to us

If you write to [email protected], we use your address and message only to answer you and keep the correspondence for as long as the matter needs it.

Cookies

The server sets four cookies on bet-va.com: mz_vid (1 year) and mz_src (30 days) on every visit, and XSRF-TOKEN and mozbiz_session (20 hours each) when you open a /go/ link. They are listed with their purpose on the cookie policy page. The site has no advertising or analytics scripts of its own.

Why we process data and for how long

Logs and cookies are processed in our legitimate interest in running a secure site and knowing which pages readers use; logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted. The newsletter address is processed because you asked for the newsletter and is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.

Your choices and rights

Should you block or clear cookies in your browser, our pages will still work. Want to know what data we hold on you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it? Write to us at [email protected]. We do not sell personal data.

Age

This site is meant for adults aged 21 or over and is not directed at minors. We never knowingly gather data from people younger than 21.

Changes

Each time we change this notice, we put a fresh date at its top.
