Currently, Virginia online casinos are not regulated, and we’re not seeing any indication that that will change. However, the recent advent of a bill to legalize VA online sports betting might pave the way for legal mobile casinos in the future.

You can still play the Virginia Lottery, of course.

Retail Casinos in VA

There are no retail casinos in Old Dominion. Virginia lawmakers have had a long-lasting grudge about the ills of gambling, and that’s evidenced by the lack of legal gambling options in the state. However, an online sports betting bill is making its way through the Virginia General Assembly, and it’s very likely to pass.

Once HB 896 is law, it’s not a stretch to imagine lawmakers finally agreeing on a legalized casino bill. We’ll keep you updated on that, but for now, there are no casinos to be had in VA, online or otherwise.

Yes, it’s a bummer that casinos don’t have any headway with Virginia lawmakers. That doesn’t mean you have to miss out on a fun gambling experience, however. Here’s a list of retail casinos in nearby states that will keep you entertained until Virginia online casinos find their legal footing:
